Celebrating Deaf Culture and Heritage at Imperial World School - 2081

Events,
"A people without knowledge of their history and culture is like a tree without roots."
- Marcus Garvey
Imperial World School is proud to embark on a new journey, honoring the rich heritage of the Deaf Community. On Friday, May 24th, we welcomed 50 Deaf youth, educators, and students to our auditorium to celebrate Deaf Culture and Deaf Art. This inspiring event was a first-of-its-kind experience for many participants, who eagerly requested more.

We're excited to announce that this is just the beginning. Over the next few months, we'll delve deeper into the Deaf way of life, exploring social, philosophical, spiritual, and professional aspects—all in Sign Language.

To promote social inclusivity and equity, we will also provide this valuable learning opportunity to our Hearing students, fostering a community where the Deaf Community is acknowledged, respected, and welcomed.
