Aarnav Shrestha

Grade 10 ‘Bhotekoshi’

In a lively city, lived two inseparable friends, George and Mark. They were as close to each other as thorns in a flower. Every task they did, they did it together. They both shared their heavy-hearted weights. George and Mark used to study in a private school where the sons of the anuent studied. George came from a wealthy background whereas, Mark had come from a poor background.

Everyone at school was amazed by George and Mark’s Bond. In particular, George’s friends used to envy Mark as he was friends with the wealthiest person in school. Mark was a brilliant scholar with a kind heart. He had a pretty disturbed background and was currently staying with his aunt who was drowning in debt. Due to his extraordinary abilities he was in this prestigious school on scholarship. On the other hand, George was a lucky son. He was the only son in his family and his parents were immensely rich. George always supported his friend Mark and tried his best to protect him from bullies. Mark was an easy target because of his humble background. Little did George know that behind his back his friends were bullying Mark every day. On his way back home, every evening, the bullies would follow and beat up Mark badly. Mark tried his best to play off his injuries whenever George asked him. Days went by and Mark disappeared from school and the city without a trace.

Twelve years passed, George found himself on the dark side of poverty. He suddenly found himself in Mark's shoes. On a fateful day, George was walking through a street for his job interview, when he saw a familiar face. It was Mark, in fashionable and elegant clothes. They both shared their stories and their current situation. They talked for hours about their special moments until Mark who had now become a multi-millionaire offered George help and changed his life again. This made George tear up and after a few years, George again became financially stable.
