In the northern parts of India there was an only- boys school. In this school there were four very close cousins, who shared an incredible bond and never took their education seriously. Soon it was time for the second term assessment and as usual the boys were partying and killing time instead of studying. It was the night before their exam and studying was the least on their mind.
The day of the exam they went to the Dean’s oƥce. Since the Dean was worried about them, the four lied about having a family emergency and while returning they punctured their tire so they couldn’t prepare for the upcoming exam. After hearing this story the dean talked with the Academic Head and the teachers decided to conduct a re-exam for the four boys. Hearing this the boys cheered and started preparing for the exam. They had covered nearly half of the syllabus and were unprepared. It was the day of exam and following the school protocol each student was sent to a separate classroom, with an invigilator each. Soon the boys got to hear a strange update on the exam protocol, the timing of the exam had been reduced from 3 hours to an hour. They were quite confused with this sudden change but they decided to ignore it and give the exam.
Little did they know they were about to face an unexpected and bizarre situation. They were shocked to see a 100 marks examination that consisted of only 2 questions. The first question was, “Write your name,” and the second question asked, “Which tire from your car punctured while returning from the family emergency?” and the options were 1) front left 2) front right 3) black left 4) back right. That was the moment they realized how big a mistake they had made. As expected, all of them had different answers and their lie was caught! They got expelled from school and from that day onwards they realized the meaning of “honesty is the best policy”.
