Parent Academy – Year 2, Session 2 | Digital Safety & Cyber Awareness
As children spend an increasing amount of time in the digital world, helping them navigate technology safely has become an essential part of parenting. Recognising the importance of digital awareness, Imperial World School hosted Parent Academy – Year 2, Session 2, focused on the theme “Empowering Parents to Protect Children in the Digital World.”
The insightful session was facilitated by Er. Deepa Bhattarai, Inspector, Cyber Bureau, Nepal Police, who guided parents through key aspects of digital safety, cyber awareness, responsible technology use, online threats, and practical ways to protect children in an increasingly connected world.
The session also emphasised the importance of open and honest communication between parents and children. Parents were encouraged to stay informed, understand the digital spaces their children engage with, and take a proactive role in guiding them towards safe and responsible technology use.
The session served as a valuable reminder that creating a safer digital environment for children is a shared responsibility between schools, families, and the wider community.
At IWS, we remain committed to empowering our parent community with meaningful knowledge and practical tools that support the wellbeing, safety, and development of our students.
Together, let’s raise informed, responsible, and confident digital citizens.
