Position Overview
The Secondary School Science Teacher at Imperial World School Nepal is responsible for delivering a high-quality, inquiry-based science education that aligns with the school’s mission for holistic student development. This role involves teaching students to think critically about the world around them, facilitating hands-on laboratory experiences, and fostering a passion for scientific discovery. The teacher will implement a combination of the Nepal National Curriculum and international frameworks (such as the International Middle Years Curriculum - IMYC), ensuring students are prepared for local and global challenges.
Instructional Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery & Planning: Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology that prioritize conceptual understanding over rote learning.

Inquiry-Based Learning: Implement research-based pedagogical strategies, including project-based learning (PBL) and to encourage students to investigate and understand scientific phenomena.

Curriculum Mapping and Lesson Planning: Design and implement high-quality, inquiry-based lesson plans using the IWS 5-E (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate) template to ensure student-centered learning and conceptual mastery.

Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a comprehensive Year-Long Plan that ensures all learning objectives of the Nepal National Curriculum and international frameworks (IMYC) are met systematically.

Curriculum Alignment: Lead the horizontal alignment to ensure consistency across grade-level sections and vertical alignment to provide a seamless transition of scientific skills and knowledge from elementary through secondary school.

Standards Integration: Ensure all mapping and planning are rigorously aligned with the school’s educational standards and to instruction.

Laboratory Management: Lead and supervise safe, hands-on experiments and demonstrations, ensuring students develop practical skills in data collection, observation, and evaluation.

Assessment & Feedback: Conduct regular formative and summative assessments, providing timely and meaningful feedback to support student growth and raise attainment standards.

Technology Integration: Utilize technologically equipped classrooms and digital tools (e.g., simulations, multimedia) to enhance the learning experience and prepare students for a tech-driven world.
Student Support & Classroom Culture

Required Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in Science (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology) or Science Education from a recognized university.

Experience: A minimum of three years of current, full-time teaching experience in a secondary school setting, preferably in an international or diverse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international curricula such as the IMYC or Cambridge IGCSE or IB MYP
- Proficiency in digital tools for classroom management and student communication (e.g., Google Classroom, LMS).
- Valid teaching license or certification relevant to secondary education is preferred.
